Every year I say I'm going to be super organized for Christmas, have everything done so I don't have to stay up Christmas Eve frantically trying to finish. And this year, like every year, I was up until the wee hours of the morning trying to get everything done. I was so tired Christmas morning that after the kids opened their presents, I went back to bed for a couple of hours. Oh well..maybe next year.
Christmas Goals for 2012
1.Make sugar cookies and a gingerbread house. Usually we do gingerbread houses the day after Thanksgiving-it's how I get rid of any lingering Halloween candy. We didn't do it this year and I missed it. As for the cookies, I've always wanted to try making those cute decorated sugar cookies and have amassed quite a collection of cookie cutters. All the cookie cutters collected was dust. Sigh.
2.Have the house clean and decluttered by Thanksgiving. I am not the best housekeeper and stuff just piled up around here. It's no fun cleaning Christmas Eve when I should be snuggled up on the couch watching a movie. Ditto for laundry-ugh.
3.Sell down my Ebay inventory so that I have very little by the time Christmas comes. I did sell alot of stuff, but I was looking at my inventory...I could've done so much more if I had worked a little harder and were more organized.
4.Take more pictures. I didn't take any this year. I was just so tired that I didn't think to pick up the camera.
5. Make sure I get a full nights rest on Christmas Eve.
Anyone else thinking about how they could have done Christmas better?? Or are you still trying to catch your breath?
Going to see Santa with Nathan-see, I did get some things checked off my list.

Trying Something New
I had a birthday last week and turned the big 4-0. Forty...it sounds like a long time, but I look around and think,'Wait, how did I get here so fast? Wasn't I just 30?' 'What are these little wrinkles doing by my eyes and who told them they could stay?' I could go on and on into a downward spiral, but I digress.
I always wanted to have a blog.I have stuff to say...and show people...and stuff (Like how eloquent I am?) I like to bake, make things, and go thrifting. I'm a stay at home mom to three kids- ages 15, 13, and 3.Yes,I know there's an age gap with the last one.Surprise!
As to how I came up with the name "Butter Ninja"...I have been taking shotokan karate for several years. One of my favorite things to do is bake treats for my friends and and instructors up at karate. One night, an instructor was saying how these cupcakes were so good I should go into business. I joked," Yeah,I could be the butter ninja."It stuck.
